I am an experienced psychologist and behavioural neuroscientist, who offers a safe and non-judgemental environment for clients. I am experienced working with adults facing issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, Autism, and managing life transitions. I am particularly passionate about supporting the mental health of middle-aged and older adults. While I use a range of evidence-based techniques, my pragmatic and empathetic approach is also informed by my background in neuroscience.
My experience and background
I am an Associate Professor and the Deputy Director of the University of Melbourne Academic Unit of Psychiatry of Old Age. I have been working at the University of Melbourne since 2006, focusing on research that supports mental and cognitive health in middle-aged and older adults. I have more than 140 peer-reviewed research articles published in international scientific literature, am the co-leader of Melbourne Psychology and Ageing, and am an honorary Principle Research Fellow within the University of Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences and the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. I am also the leader of the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) Capacity Building and Mentoring Committee reflecting my passion for supporting early career researchers.

Supervision
I am a board approved supervisor. I am able to offer supervision for:

clinical psychology registrars (primary or secondary)

psychologists and other mental health professionals who require ongoing supervision/peer consultation

psychologists and other mental health clinicians who would like ad hoc supervision.

Bachelor Applied Science (Honours) (Psychology/Psychophysiology)
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology
Master of Psychology (Clinical)
Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience
