Spending time by a river teaches us many things, one of them the flow of life, its constant movement, and it's clear that an enchanted life demands an appreciation of this flow

About us
Yarra City Psychology (YCP) was established by Laura in 2012. At the time Laura was living in Warrandyte and working in Richmond; the connection between the two places by the Yarra River inspired the name and logo of the practice.
YCP was initially established at The Melbourne Clinic Consulting Suites before moving to larger premises in Swan Street, Richmond, to allow for other psychologists to join the practice. Remaining in Richmond was important to allow ongoing collaboration with referrers and other services in the area. The location allows easy access by public transport and the office is on a single level with a ramp installed at the front entrance to facilitate accessibility.
As a practice we are committed to:
-
Supporting the health and wellbeing of the community by providing high quality psychological services
-
Meeting best practice standards including maintaining highest privacy and ethical standards
-
Provision of services that address unmet needs in the local area, including the provision of some low cost services, suicide prevention, and disability accessible services
-
Providing an inclusive, non-judgemental approach, and equality of treatment regardless of social status, ethnicity, gender, ability, or sexuality
-
Collaborating with clients to select and implement effective and appropriate assessments and interventions to achieve their goals
-
Providing holistic models of care, which may include support of families and carers, as well as collaboration with treating teams and local health care services
-
Measuring our clinical effectiveness and client satisfaction
-
Engaging in continued professional and personal development
-
Acting in an environmentally sustainable manner
